Why I collect personal information and how I use it

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), I must have a legal basis for collecting and using your personal information. My legal basis for processing this personal information is for my legitimate interests and yours (for instance to administer my business and/or provide customer services to you). 

 

I collect or use the following personal information for providing you with my services where you have opted to take these services:

My legal basis for processing this personal information is to fulfil a contract with you in order to deliver my services to you.

  • Your right of access: You have the right to ask me for copies of your personal information. You can request other information such as details about where I get personal information from and who I share personal information with. There are some exemptions which means you may not receive all the information you ask for.  

 

  • Your right to rectification: You have the right to ask me to correct or delete personal information you think is inaccurate or incomplete.  

 

  • Your right to erasure: You have the right to ask me to delete your personal information.  

 

  • Your right to restriction of processing:  You have the right to ask me to limit how I can use your personal information.  

 

  • Your right to object to processing: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data.  

 

  • Your right to data portability: You have the right to ask that I transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you.  

 

  • Your right to withdraw consent: When I use consent as our lawful basis you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time.  

 

If you make a request, I must respond to you within one month.

How long I keep information 

 

I only retain your personal information for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. 

 

At the end of that period, your data will be deleted completely or anonymised. 

 

Who I disclose personal information to and third party websites 

 

I may disclose personal information to third parties but only in connection with my services, and in accordance with this Privacy Notice and UK GDPR.  I may disclose personal information as follows:

  • Third parties who are data processors: I may disclose personal information to data processors that provide elements of my services (such as website hosting, payment of services and delivery of goods to you).  I have contracts in place with these data processors and they are not permitted to do anything with personal information unless I have instructed them to do so.   When it is necessary for data processors to transfer your personal information outside of the UK, I will ensure that this only occurs in accordance with UK GDPR.

  • Third parties who are independent data controllers: Some third parties to whom I disclose personal information act as independent data controllers. This means that I do not dictate how the personal information I disclose will be processed. Examples of independent data controllers include financial institutions (such as those you interact with when you make payments to me), my professional advisors (such as lawyers and insurers), and governmental/regulatory authorities.

Sharing information outside the UK 

 

I only disclose personal information to organisations in the UK. Where necessary, however, my third party service providers may transfer personal information outside of the UK. When doing so, they comply with the UK GDPR, making sure appropriate safeguards are in place.

I may update this Privacy Notice from time to time.  I will post an alert online if the changes are material.  If the changes will materially affect the way I use personal information that I have already collected, I will notify you.

Children’s data

My website and services are not directed or intended for children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information users deemed to be children under the laws of England and Wales. If you believe I am processing a child’s information or doing so inappropriately, please contact me using the contact information provided above.
